Paladin Shaving is a small, family-owned and operated business based in the Midwest US. Our focus is on quality, not scale. Every brush we make spends the majority of its time in production being worked directly by hand. What we create, however, is also enabled by use of precision CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Manufacturing) and CNC (Computer Numeric Control) technology, which we employ in designing, machining, and engraving handles. Whatever tool, machine, or technology is utilized to achieve a desired result, we pay meticulous attention to every aspect and detail of the work carried out in our shop (aka Dark Holler Design Works).

Paladin Shaving Brushes

We currently make shaving brushes in six handle designs: Chief™, PK-47™, Falstaff™ (Chubby-style), Sumo™ (Snowman-style), Sherlock™ (Keyhole-style), and Lotus™. Each of these reflects appreciative study and purposeful integration of traditional design elements. We spend a lot of time musing over vintage handles. But simply copying an old design wouldn’t be very satisfying; the challenge lies in discovering subtle ways to improve on a vintage design without sacrificing its character. Then there is the greater challenge of coming up with something entirely new. We believe we accomplished that in the Lotus.
